Yesterday I hiked the East Rim of Zions. The trail runs from the East Entrance about 10 miles
to Weeping Rock.
I was mainly hiking, not birding, but of course I still managed to see a few birds too...
Nothing really out of the ordinary, but a lot of new arrivals for the spring. a few of the highlights
were:
Black-throated Gray Warblers calling everywhere
a few Grace's Warblers
Western Bluebirds
B.G. Gnatcatchers
R.C. Kinglets
My first B.T. Hummers of the year
1 Clark's Nutcracker
a pair of Peregrin Falcons (just below observation point)
It is beautiful there now. All the creek beds that are always dry have a lot of water running
down them now. There are a lot of waterfalls too - one right over weeping rock.
