gray-crowned rosy finches in Francis

About 35 gray-crowned rosy finches were seen in trees at 235 W Lower
River Road in Francis at about 1:15 this afternoon. No black rosy
finches were observed. The house sits well up above the road. Several
feeders could be seen in trees behind it. Geese could also be heard on
the property but could not be investigated without trespassing. Other
common birds were also visible from the road, which was plowed and dry.

Lower River Road may be found about 1.75 miles beyond the entrance to
Rock Cliffs State Park at Jordanelle Res. It is on the right just as you
begin to climb the hill up into Francis.

If there were waxwings in Kamas - I didn't see any - this afternoon's
wind has blown them elsewhere.
