prarie falcon

The prarie falcon has returned to hunt the causeway to Antelope Island.
She is usually found siting on a traffic sign anywhere along the
causeway. She has been near the second bridge hunting waterfowl and
eared grebes the last couple of days.

I watched a pair of Golden eagles soaring on the north end of the
island this morning and have had others report seeing them since last
Saturday.

There is many large groups of waterfowl along the causeway. Mostly
Northern shovelers. There are still quite a few gulls.

Northern harriers have also returned to hunt the causeway. Kestrals
are visible alont the causeway too. I watched a great interaction
between the kestrals and magpies at the restroom facilities near the
gate house. Both species are trying to use the facilities to stay out
of the weather.
