Re: Brant Sighted This Morning!

I've just spoken directly with Pomera and she gave me additional details about the Brant.  She said it was inside the tour loop, 200-300 yards off shore.  She and Kent were able to pick out the Brant with binoculars and got very good looks.  She also said that the Brant is not really keeping company with other birds.

Subject: [birdnet] Brant Sighted This Morning!

I just heard from Pomera Fronce and Kent Lewis via Glenn Barlow.  Pomera and Kent are up at Bear River MBR and have seen the Brant this morning.  The location they gave is on the auto tour loop, one mile west of the extreme southern point of the tour loop where the observation walkway is.  I have made the assumption that the bird is inside the loop as the water level inside the loop (Unit 2) is high.
