Lytle Ranch

I went to Lytle Ranch today where the tempeture was nice for this time of year. The fruit in the orchard is getting ripe, with a lot of birds taking advantage of it. Most of the birds were House Finches and Phainopepla's but there was 3 species of Oriole's, both Tanagers and 3 different Grosbeak's plus the rest of the breeders and the resident birds in the area.
The only rare thing was a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, but there wasn't just one of them there were 3 of them! 2 males and a female. Although this year they don't seem to be very rare in the state. This makes 5 different ones that I've seen this Spring and I know that there have been others reported too.

Good birding,

Larry Tripp
