Waterbird/Raptor Survey Count
8/21/03

The shallow waters remaining in the wetland management unit inside the tour
loop is rapidly vanishing. Likely by the end of this week it will be dry
without rainfall. In the mean-time the mudflats offer excellent shorebird
habitat. Teal have moved into the area in large numbers. Observed one
brood of snowy plover chicks. Both still in down. First observation of
Red-necked Phalarope. Pink Floyd can also be observed from the tour route
from time to time.
