Texas Birds



Hi All

I took a trip to Texas (Houston and Galveston) last week and was able
to get a little birding in. 

N Mockingbirds as common as Robins are here
Common Grackles everywhere New Lifer
Great Tailed Grackles not quite as many as common Grackles but very
numerous
Mourning Doves
White Winged Doves New Lifer
Inca Doves
Great Egrets everywhere
Loggerhead Shrikes very abundant
Blue Jays New Lifer
Chimney Swifts New Lifer
Common Night Hawks
Lesser Night Hawks New Lifer
Blue Herons
Snowy Egrets
Green Heron
Brown Pelicans Galveston
Cormorants Galveston
Forster's Terns Galveston
Laughing Gulls Galveston New Lifer
Indigo Bunting Galveston
Cardinals
Black Vulture
The best sighting for me though was 2 Ruddy Turnstones on a rocky beach
in Galveston New Lifer

It was a great trip and the birds were the icing on the cake
