On February 5, 2003, Reed Stone, Glenn Barlow, Carol Jean Nelson and I went
to Boulder Mountain to find the Acorn Woodpecker. We Found it in the tree
where it has been reported.
We saw numerous Bald Eagles and several Golden Eagles along the way. We saw
the following birds:
Along road to/from Boulder
Bald Eagle
Golden Eagle
Red-tailed Hawk
Rough-legged Hawk (not seen by everyone)
Mallard
Common Raven
Black-billed Magpie
American Robin
American Kestrel
Pinyon Jay (large flock between Scipio and Sugurd)
Rock Dove
Canada Goose
On Boulder mountain
Acorn Woodpecker
Mountain Chickadee
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Goshen Canyon side trip
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Dark-eyed Junco
Common Snipe (not seen by everyone)
