Bountiful Landfill and Saltair 1/8

Sorry this message is so late but I've been on the road and this is the
first chance I've had to post. I went over to Saltair to check the gulls
out. It was so foggy (I-80 was closed because of a big accident that day)
I couldn't see much. There was a Say's Phoebe hanging around the small
pond in front of the Gift Shop/Paddleboat.

I decided to go over to Bountiful for a second look at the gulls there.
I'd been there on the 6th but there weren't very many gulls and nothing
unusual. I'm assuming they're spread out with all the open water this
year. Any way there were a few more birds this time and obviously a
different mix of birds. Quite a few Herring Gulls, maybe 25, of all ages.
Also six or so juvenile/first winter and at least on adult Thayer's.
There was also a first winter Glaucous-winged type bird present but I
don't think it was a pure GWed. It was fairly light and the primaries
matched the body color. Only the outer two primaries extended past the
tail. The bill was black but had light color suffused through the basal
2/3 or so. It also had well marked/spangled wing coverts that looked more
like a Thayer's would look. Neat looking bird whatever it is.
