I received a report from Fred Dungan, a non-birder Zion park volunteer, regarding a probable Great Egret on the "back nine" at Southgate Golf Course in St. George. He saw it on Friday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 15. Take Hilton Drive past the Southgate clubhouse and bear left, as if going to Bloomington. Turn left at the second road (Legacy Drive) and park near the golf cart crossing sign. From there you can enter the course and see three ponds. The egret has been hanging out on one of the ponds.
