Roy Groesbeck and I made the trip to see the acorn woodpecker, (thanks Dennis).
We spent most of the weekend in Mesquite and St. George. We saw the common winter birds in the area. Found the white-winged doves, but no collared doves. We saw a total of 5 vermilion flycatchers (two pairs and one female) in the Bunkerville, Nevada area and one male in Beaver Dam , Arizona. Also in the Riverside, Nevada area we saw two black-tailed gnatcatchers. Better directions if requested.
