Birds in Henry's Fork, Summit County



Here are some of my bird sightings from my backpacking trip up the
Henry's Fork drainage in the High Uintas, Summit County Utah:

3- White-tailed Ptarmigan        11,400' elev. Cliff Lake area
1- light phase or immature Red-tailed Hawk    11,400' elev. Chasing Ptarmigan
3- Northern Harrier              11,200' elev.
1- Rock Wren                     11,200' elev.
1- Goshawk                       10,600' elev.  Dollar Lake area Perched on
dead blow-down tree near trail in driving rain storm.
4- Northern Harrier              11,200' elev.
1- Golden Eagle                  11,000 elev. Lake G-98 and G 42 chasing ducks
2- Hermit Thrush                 10,200' elev. spruce pine timber
many- Black Rosy-Finch           11,200'  Blanchard Lake in boulders
many- Wilson's Warblers          11,400' to 9,400'  in willows
6- Ruby-crowned Kinglets         10,400' elves  spruce fir timber
10+ Ring-neck Ducks              10,800' elev.  Lake G42
20+ Green-winged Teal            10,800 elev.   Lake G42
1- Song Sparrow                  10,800 elev.  Lake G42 area
1- American Dipper               10,000' elev.  Henry's Fork at Elkhorn
Crossing footbridge
Chipping, Lincoln's, White-crowned Sparrows throughout
Robins
1- Flycatcher    variety?        in Aspens at trailhead
Clark's Nutcrackers
Gray Jays
Northern Flicker

I was up there for four days of rain snow and wind September 5 thru September 8.
