There are only three changes which affect most
North American birders. The new world race of Common Snipe is now split
from the old world race. We now have Wilson's Snipe (Gallinago delicata),
you will now have to go to Europe to see a Common Snipe (Gallinago
gallinago).
The English name of Eared Trogon (for those lucky
enough to have seen one in Ariz.) has been changed to Eared
Quetzal.
The Black-crested Titmouse (Baeolophus atricristatus)
is now again a full species and is separated from the Tufted Titmouse (B.
bicolor). So if you've been to southern Texas you probably can add another
species to your life list.
