Today I saw a few unusual birds at Midview
Reservoir. There were 4 snowy plovers and a single sanderling feeding on
the mudflats at the SW corner of the reservoir (or pond, as it now
resembles). There was also a immature common loon in the open water.
I have observed several common loons this summer in the Basin but this is the
first juvenile.
