Subject: birding 7/30 and 8/1

Birded Tony Grove area with Kent Lewis looking for Red-headed Woodpecker Tuesday 7/30 with no luck. Walked about a mile up the trail toward White Lake but only saw Williamson's Sapsuckers, McGillivray's Warbler, Audubon's Warbler, Western Tanagers, Chipping Sparrows. Saw Purple Martin below Tony Grove on the side road where they are typically seen. This road is the only one going off of the main road to Tony Grove; go about 100 yards up the road, and watch for swallows and martins mixed in with them.

Birded Mirror Lake area with Calleen Cox on 8/1. No three-toed Woodpecker but did see a Pine Grosbeak.

Good birding,
Julie
