American redstart at Jordanelle

Title: American redstart at Jordanelle
The American redstart reported Sunday by Julie VanMoorhem was in exactly the same spot Monday at 1:30 p.m. It is a beautiful male offering wonderful views.

Julie's directions were: Go to the end of the road below the dam and park. Enter the trail on the south side of the maintenance building across from the campground and walk approximately 1/4 mile to the south. On the east side of the trail there is a stake with a blue-and-white striped survey tape marker(you will have crossed a short boardwalk just before this; if you come to another boardwalk after you pass the stake you've passed the area where the bird was seen). The Redstart was seen on the west side of the trail flying back and forth in an area about 30' long, parallel to the trail. The trees here are  a mix of live and dead, the bird was sometimes high but mostly just a few feet above head height.
