Winter Wrens

Salt Lake Birders went on a field trip to City Creek Canyon and the Salt =
Lake City Cemetery (Salt Lake Co.).  While there was quite an assortment =
of birds seen, the highlights were probably 2 Winter Wrens.  We got =
fairly decent looks at the first wren, but the 2nd wren, which was about =
a 1/4 mile further up the canyon, really put on a show!!  It flew up to =
a low branch just above the stream, made sure that it had a snowy =
backdrop so that we could very clearly see his fine details and =
beautiful rufous colors.  After that was accomplished, he proceeded to =
serenade us for at least 5 minutes, turning slightly every now and then =
to give us different views.  Beautiful sighting!!!
