I don't know if this is noteworthy, but this is a slow time of year
bird-wise. I found a Northern Pygmy Owl perched on top of a conifer, in the
double row of conifers just north of the Manti Temple (Sanpete County). This
was today at 4:30 pm. Also in Sanpete county were quite a few Bald and
Golden Eagles, Rough-legged Hawks, and Tree Sparrows. These birds were in
the marshes bordering the Sevier river between Fayette and Gunnison. My
in-laws live in Fayette, which is a great place to bird, but I doubt many
people ever bird this area. It's a bit out of the way.
