Friday Pomera and I met at the SLC Cemetery about 12:30. Before she =
arrived I met Brooke and Jenine Snarr. So, the four of us birded =
together. We were looking for Kinglets and Juniper Titmice. Only =
partial luck. There was a lovely mixed herd of Mule Deer, about 12 =
animals in all. They were browsing in the area where we were birding. =
We saw the following birds:
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Steller's Jay
Western Scrub Jay
Black-billed Magpie
Black-capped Chickadee
Mountain Chickadee
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Townsend's Solitaire
American Robin
Pine Siskin
After going our separate ways I ventured to the Kaysville Ponds and was =
able to see 2 Common Snipe and the east side of the pond. The Hooded =
Mergansers were still there. Lots of birds to see.
On Thursday morning Pomera and I saw the Surf Scoter again, as well as a =
juvenile Ruddy Duck and some Goldeneye, south of the marina in the bay, =
near the spit of rocks extending northeast from the shore-line.
