The Salt Lake Birders field trip Saturday, Sept. 15, to Utah County, netted
some interesting birds. At Utah Lake State Park, there was a nice
collection of shorebirds - both yellowlegs, western and least sandpipers,
phalarope, Baird's, pectoral and spotted sandpipers. The Provo River
Parkway still had some warblers about 1/2 mile up the trail, incl.
yellow-rumped, Nashville, and Townsend's. River Road was quiet when we got
there, except for a chorus of sandhill cranes nearby, and a dive-bombing
common nighthawk. Carol
