Black-bellied plover

On the UCB shorebirds fieldtrip this morning (Tu 8.14.01,  8:30 am) we
saw a winter plumaged black-bellied plover at the Provo (Utah Co.)
airport dike. It was first spotted on the mudflat just west of the new
extension.  It flew west and we spotted it again about half-way between
the new part and the southwest corner of the dike. Besides the regulars,
we also saw several semi-palmated plovers, a red-necked phalarope and a
beards sandpiper.
