Hi All
I made it out to Farmington Bay Sunday I saw a lot of the usual. It was a beautiful day and I just enjoyed watching the Avocets, Stilts, Willets, Snowy Egrets and of course the Yellow Headed and Red Winged Black Birds. I drove down to the pond at the end of Glover Lane and there were several Blue Herons, and 2 Great Egrets there. They stayed for a long time then got up and flew into the bird refuge. I also spotted Foresters Terns and one Caspian Tern. I took My Petersen's Field guide out to verify the Caspian Tern and got so caught up in watching the birds I left it on the hood of my car when I left. I drove up to Farmington Canyon hoping to see some Western Tanagers and reached down and realized my field guide was not in the car. When I got back down to Glover Lane my book was sitting on a fence post. Some kind person picked it up off the road and put in on the fence knowing I would be back for it. If any of you are the one who did this I just wanted to THANK YOU for helping me retrieve my book. It was a gift from my brother in law so it has sentimental value as well as being my field guide.
Happy Birding Steve
