BOX ELDER COUNTY

A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was seen at BRMBR on Sunday, 05/06 (J&KB). It was seen
along the east side of the auto-tour loop, 1.5 miles south of the restroom
at the refuge entrance.

Other good birds at or near BRMBR included a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER on a
mudflat on the south side of the entrance road about 1/2 mile east of the
entrance, and a first-spring THAYER'S GULL along the south side of the
auto-tour loop, both on Saturday, 04/28 (MS,v.o.), and on Sunday, 04/29, a
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER on the mudflats at the entrance to the Chesapeake Duck
Club, and a SOLITARY SANDPIPER about half-way along the north side of the
auto-tour loop (C&TN).

A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was seen at the pond at Lucin, west of the Great
Salt Lake, on Thursday, 05/03 (KE,PK,JR,LS).

At Mantua Reservoir, a GREATER SCAUP was seen on Sunday, 04/29 (MS,v.o.).

CACHE COUNTY

A HORNED GREBE in breeding plumage was seen at the Logan sewage treatment
ponds on Sunday, 04/29 (B&JD).

DAVIS COUNTY

A CURLEW SANDPIPER was seen along the AIC on Sunday, 05/06 (J&KB). The bird
was not yet in full breeding plumage, and was seen amongst a flock of
SANDERLINGS near mile marker 2. Efforts to re-locate the bird on Monday,
05/07 were not successful, however, the bird was seen again in the same
location on Tuesday morning, 05/08 (TS).

A single BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was seen along the shore of the Great Salt
Lake at the west edge of the Layton Wetlands on Saturday, 05/05 (PM).

A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was heard at the Fielding-Garr Ranch at Antelope
Island SP on Friday, 04/27 (MS,v.o.). It was along the stream east of the
buildings, in the thick brush near where the stream enters the lakeshore
marsh.

GRAND COUNTY

At the Matheson Wetlands Preserve in Moab, a GREEN HERON and an INDIGO
BUNTING have been seen over the past week, as reported on Monday, 05/07
(DF).

IRON COUNTY

A male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was seen at Canyon Park in Cedar City on
Saturday, 04/28 (SH,v.o.).

The WHIMBREL, which was seen at Quichapa Lake west of Cedar City on 04/23,
was most recently reported on Saturday, 04/28 (MW). Quichapa Lake is just
south of SR 56, about 7 miles west of Cedar City.

SALT LAKE COUNTY

A LEWIS'S WOODPECKER was seen at about 3200 North and 2200 West in Salt
Lake City on Sunday, 05/06 (MZ), It was last seen flying southeast from
that location.

A female THREE-TOED WOODPECKER was seen at Brighton on Wednesday, 05/02
(MS,v.o.).It was about 100 yards west of the footbridge over the outlet of
Silver Lake, working the trees along the west shore of the lake.

UINTAH COUNTY

A male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK has been visiting a feeder in Jensen over the
past week, as reported on Friday, 05/04 (KP).

Two BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were seen at Ouray NWR on Saturday, 05/05 (B&LR).

UTAH COUNTY

A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was seen in a yard in Elk Ridge in south of Salem
on Thursday, 05/03 (DS).

WASATCH COUNTY

A BROAD-WINGED HAWK was recorded by volunteers at the Hawkwatch
International count site above Jordanelle Reservoir at about 11:30 am on
Wednesday, 04/25 (fide LW).

WASHINGTON COUNTY

The PAINTED REDSTART, which was seen in Zion NP on 04/22, has been seen by
many over the past two weeks, with the most recent reports from Friday,
05/04 (MS,v.o.) and Saturday, 05/05 (MD). It continues to be seen in the
riparian woodland near the Temple of Sinawava shuttle stop and in a Douglas
Fir tree on the side of the canyon about 1/4 downstream.

A female ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was seen at Lytle Ranch Preserve on
Thursday, 05/03 (MS,v.o.). It was in the cottonwoods near the preserve
entrance.

A flock of LARK BUNTINGS, which included 5 males and 2 females, was seen in
the Flora-tech fields west of Hurricane on Saturday, 05/05 (RF). To get
there, take Flora-tech Road south from SR 9 through an area of fields and
orchards to a newly-constructed cement building along a dirt road west of
the main road. The birds were in the edge of the fields near this building.

A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was seen at Lytle Ranch on Thursday, 05/03
(MS,v.o.). It was about 1/2 mile north of the ranch house along the stream.

WEBER COUNTY

A SOLITARY SANDPIPER was seen at a small pond at 2600 South 5100 West, west
of Ogden, on Sunday, 05/06 (J&KB).
