I second what Steve Coleman said about Warm Springs WMA being a great =
place!! I spent a couple of hours there and located the Townsend =
Solitaire, Spotted Towhees (8-10 of 'em), Yellow Rumped Warblers, and =
gobs of Cedar Waxwings, but, alas (isn't that a good Irish term, this =
being St. Patty's Day and all!!), I was not able to locate the Long =
Eared Owls that Dennis saw a couple of weeks ago. Heck, I couldn't even =
find the blue pheasant feeders!!
I also visited the Airport Dike and had a great time!!! Found my first =
Western Grebe and White Faced Ibis of the season. Also logged Cinnamon =
Teal, Green Wing Teal, Common Merganser (many!!), Pintails, Shovelers, =
L. Scaup, Gadwalls, Redheads, Ruddy Ducks (still in winter plumage, not =
like the one I saw at the GSL Marina a week ago!) Pied Billed Grebes, =
Ring Necked Ducks, A. Wigeon, and Gadwalls.
I added 2 Lifers to my list today (138 total, 130 from Utah). That's =
one nice thing about being a "rookie"-- I get to add Lifers more =
often!!!
Good Birding!!
Bruce
