Heres the blurb from the Aviary: Dr. Edward H. Burtt, Professor of Ornithology at Ohio Wesleyan University, will be the eighth speaker to take part in Tracy Aviarys Distinguished Lecture Series. Dr. Burtt will take the podium to discuss the world of life that exists among the feathers of birds (i.e. hell be talking about bugs, lice, bacteria, etc.). He will enlighten the audience with the amazing strategies that birds have developed to cope with the constant threat that these critters pose to their beautiful plumage. Interactions between feather-eating bacteria and other organisms in the feather jungle will be described and pictured. Dr. Burtt will even bring the audience in for a REAL CLOSE look at the critters with three-dimensional electron micrographs and 3D glasses for the audience to view them.
