I have been converting my small downtown SLC backyard in to my little =
haven for the birds. It's truly becoming a dream come true. Many =
people would have a hard time believing that it can be done in the city. =
A good example is last Saturday morning. I stood inside my bedroom =
window, with the branches of a spruce tree hanging tight up against the =
window, and watched, all at the same time within ten feet of my eyes, =
three Scrub Jays, two Black-capped Chickadee's, a Mountain Chickadee, =
and a Red-breasted Nuthatch feeding at the peanut dish, peanut tube =
feeder, and suet cake. At the same time there were six American =
Goldfinches at the Niger feeder, with two waiting for a spot. Also two =
Lesser Goldfinches, Slate-colored and Oregon Juncos, along with the =
House Finches and House Sparrows hanging on or around the sunflower and =
platform feeders. I can hardly wait until I finish my little pond with =
waterfalls.
