I was able to review photo slides of the gull I observed at Bear River =
Bird Refuge on Wednesday, Nov 22 and have concluded that the bird is not =
a Black-Tailed Gull. While the gull did have some characteristics of =
the Black-Tailed Gull, including a black tail band, it lacked key I.D. =
marks including red tip on the end of the bill and slate grey mantle. I =
now believe the gull I observed is a Ring-billed variant.
