Roseate Spoonbill Still Here

The Roseate Spoonbill was still in same areas as previously noted from the mouth of the Dirty Devil River almost to the Hite area on the San Juan County side of Lake Powel this morning from 9:00am till noon when I left and went on
to Monticello. I watched it feeding, perched high in the partly submerged trees, preening, and basically hanging out with the Great-blue Herons. At 11:00am I hiked 40:00 minutes north from the Hite boat ramp over and around
several slickrock draws and was able to get within about 50 yards of the bird. I got a bunch of photos and will forward a couple later. The bird appears to be right at home so if anyone can find the time give it a try. It may be a long
time before our next record.
