A friend of mine who lives in Midway sent this picture. I think it is a dark goldfinch, but I'm not sure, so I'm polling the experts. 

"Never saw this bird before and unfortunately the focus is on the  background.  It's about the size of a goldfinch and as you see it came to the  thistle feeder.Any idea what it is??  It was there a couple of days ago and hasn't  returned.
