(E-mails from Brenda Kidman, 6 May 2011)
Well, other than the female hummer on April 22 we have been
experiencing a dearth of hummingbirds. Yesterday we finally got a male
BROAD TAILED hummer.
We have had some LAZULI BUNTINGs hanging out for a while.
Our yard is ripe with
CASSIN'S FINCHES
WHITE CROWNED SPARROWS
AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES
LESSER GOLDFINCHES
EURASIAN DOVES
MOURNING DOVES
SHARP SHIN HAWK visits
BLACK CAPPED CHICKADEE
WESTERN SCRUB JAY
BREWER'S BLACKBIRD
RED WING BLACKBIRDS
BROWN HEADED COWBIRDS
our MALE BULLOCK'S ORIOLES are hanging out and eating lots of jelly.
Spring is arriving, in baby steps but it's making progress.
