(E-mails from Rick Fridell, 1 Oct 2010)
Judy Jordan discovered a male
Broad-billed Hummingbird visiting her feeders earlier this week in New
Harmony (Washington Co.). She has graciously agreed to open their yard to
visiting birders interesting in pursuing the hummingbird. It was present
this morning from 7:30 to 8:15 but didn't show up between 8:15 and 9:00
am. I'll send a photo to Milt. She also has several Anna's Hummingbirds
coming in as well. Visitors are welcome to sit on her front porch. Please
do not block the driveway and please respect the Jordan's property and
privacy. The hummingbird is quite vocal and often perches below in the
three-lobed squawbush below the feeders. Please contact me for directions.
