Deseret Ranch
Rich County, Utah
(Emails from Mark Stackhouse, 29 May 2009)
...Last Saturday [May 23rd], I found a male
Magnolia Warbler near the office at Deseret Ranch. On Monday, a
good-sized group of birders searched the same area for about two hours
with no luck. I've checked the area every day since while doing field work
on the ranch. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. I turned up a Red-eyed Vireo
yesterday, but no signs of the Magnolia for a week.
So today, at about 11 a.m., I step outside the office for a quick peak
before heading to SLC, and the third bird I see (after Common
Yellowthroat and Gray Catbird) is the Magnolia Warbler. I have no
idea where he was hiding all week, but he's still here...
