Washington Lake in the Uinta Mountains
Summit County, UtahEmail

On Sunday afternoon we did some hiking and driving along the Mirror Lake
Scenic Byway (Hwy 150, mostly Summit Co.). At the Washington Lake
groupcampground we saw a female White-winged Crossbill and a couple of
RedCrossbills. Also in this campground was a pair of Williamson's
Sapsuckers, making repeated visits to an aspen covered in sap wells...

Hi,
The White-winged Crossbill is still at the Kennedy Group Campground at
Washington Lake. It was in the trees at the end of the road around the
circle.
Thanks to the Beyers, Bob Huntington and I found it this morning at about
9:30 AM. Another birder walked up with us and also saw the bird, but I
cannot remember his name. It was a Utah life bird for me. :-)
