Directions:  From Bangerter Highway, take 134th South going west.  Continue through Herriman to 6400 West and turn right (north).  Go about 3 block and turn left on 13100 So.  (Main St. and also Herriman Highway).  At about 7300 West make sure you keep right and go about a mile to where the road makes a strong curve to the right.  Turn left at the sign for "Wild Horse & Burro Center" (this is the Butterfield Canyon Rd. but there is no sign that says that).

Birding: It's about 8 miles to the top of the canyon.  In the lower part there are lots of turnoffs where you can park.  At about mile 7 there is a trail going off to the right (north) and another tail about a half mile further up.  At the top there is a large parking lot with several trails and two roads.  The road going down to the west leads to Middle Canyon and Tooele about 8 miles away.

Specialty Birds: Habitat and birds much like Yellow Fork Canyon, but all on paved road. Also has had Long-eared Owls, Cordilleran Flycatchers, Mountain Bluebirds, Townsend Solitaires, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Cedar Waxwings, Lark and Song Sparrows.
