Directions: (From Ferron) From UT 10 in Ferron, take the Ferron Canyon Road (FR 022)
which leads 28 miles to Ferron Reservoir. Description: Starting from the Ferron side with low-lying pinyon-juniper areas, this canyon road provides a great variety of habitats as it climbs to some high mountain lakes surrounded by firs trees and wildflowers. The narrow one-lane-with-pull-offs road is well-graded and skirts (precariously, it seems) along the mountain side with looming drop-offs which are not for the faint of heart. The spectacular alpine area at the top is your reward. The road to Mayfield is much less un-nerving but the road is a little more wash-boardy, but not that bad. eBird Data: |
