Background: I can't remember a time I was not fascinated with nature and wildlife. When I was very young (many years ago) I collected and caged snakes and lizards much to my parents delight. Now, as a state correctional officer with 24 plus years on the job, all I keep locked up are people. In 1977 I started a study of nesting golden eagles in Utah. And now, 34 years later I have banded almost 2,000 nestling golden eagles and recorded over 25,000 prey items at nests. Besides birds I enjoy photographing all kinds of wildlife. Mountain goats and wild horses are among my favorites. I shoot canon equipment and enjoy checking out the work sent in to "Utah Birds" by many talented and enthusiastic photographers.
