Records Committee
Bylaw Change Proposal
(2 May 2012)

Information:

Late last year a proposal was made that would allow a voting member to vote on his/her own sighting submission. The proposal slipped thru the cracks and was never brought up for a vote.

The way the bylaws reads now is:

[section IV.C.4] - "Disqualification and Abstentions. A Committee Member must vote on all submissions, except in the case of records submitted by that Committee Member. Committee members may not vote on records they have submitted to the Committee for review."

The new wording would be:

[section IV.C.4] - "Comments. A Committee Member must vote on all submissions, including records submitted by that Committee Member."

This change in the bylaws needs to be only accepted by a majority of members, not a 'super majority.'
