Detailed description of bird: I did not take contemporaneous field notes of the bird other than listing what birds I saw that day.

Habitat: My notes say "riparian environment" but I do not recall what or whether this has anything to do with the sighting.
Similar species and
how were they eliminated:
Adult male Hooded Warbler is unique. I had a field guide with me at the time, probably the Golded Guide "A Guide to Field Identification Birds of North America" and used that to identify the bird.
Previous experience with this & similar species: This was my first sighting of Hooded Warbler.
