Weather: "Cooler" morning temps, 65-70 degrees with patchy cloud cover. Light wind, 1-2 on Beaufort.

Field Marks and
Identifying Characteristics:
A very distinctive, unmistakeable species. Sharp-looking adult male within mixed flock of passerines. Relatively stocky warbler with deep orange hood, grayish body with bold white wing bars, black mask, extensive white on outer tail feathers.

Song or call & method of delivery: Calling frequently. Two call types heard, one reminiscent of WEBL, as well as an occasional sharp, clear, descending whistle. Several song phrases given throughout observation period.
Behavior: Moving consistently with flock which were circuiting around the available forest on the plateau. Favoring mid-upper canopy in Ponderosas.
Habitat: Mixed Ponderosa/Fir/Oak forest
