(Description:)       Basic Shape: Round head, slender neck, stocky body, pointed wings
(Description:)  Overall Pattern: White, black beak and eye stripe, light grey back

Identifying Characteristics:
In alternate plumage: all white with silver-grey back, thick black eye bar, white forehead, black wingtips. Bill black with slightly lighter base.

Behavior: Swimming with other phalaropes occasionally feeding
Habitat: Shallows of saline lake
Similar species and how
were they eliminated:
Smaller with much shorter beak than Wilson's Phalarope; similar in size and color to Red-necked Phalarope, but back was more grey, forehead more white, and bill thicker, less pointed, and lighter at the base.
