Field Marks and

(see photos)
Song or call & method of delivery: I thought I heard song once, descending chip series, like a slow OCWA
Behavior: Gleaning insects from leaves, noted odd tail-pumping behavior
Habitat: Shrubby understory and lakeshore.
Similar species and how
were they eliminated:
Rufous cap rules out most species except Chipping Sparrow, which has a dark eyeliner and lacks yellow tones and breast/flank streaks. Tail pumping is also unique. Brown back rules out YEWA and others.
Previous experience with
this & similar species:
None what-so-eva.
