Field Marks and Identifying Characteristics: |
The bird that I saw was a large almost all white owl. The back of its head,
back, wings and tail were covered in dark spots or speckled pattern. When it took off and started flying away the belly of the owl was all white along with the underside of the wings except the outer edges which were white with dark small spots. Its head and face were very round. When I first say it, it was on the ground and its back was towards me but its head was turned 90 degrees around and it was looking directly at me before it took flight. Also, when it took flight, its tail fanned out and it reminded me of a Red Tail Hawks tail in shape and size except it was all white. |
