Song or call & method of delivery: Classic warbler shape and appearance. Small black bill. Black through eye with white cheeks and yellow cap. Slight chestnut color on sides of otherwise gray/white breast. Yellow and white wing bars.

were they eliminated:
Bay-breasted warbler - also rare for the area and does not have yellow cap.

this & similar species:
We are from western North Carolina and witness this bird regularly as it breeds at our local state park (Elk Knob State Park) and is a backyard bird for many of our friends.
