white cheeks and yellow cap. Slight chestnut color on sides of otherwise
gray/white breast. Yellow and white wing bars. (see photo) |

We are from western North Carolina and witness this bird regularly as it breeds at our local state park (Elk Knob State Park) and is a backyard bird for many of our friends. |
