Field Marks and
Identifying Characteristics:
Dark back and wings with two bright white wing bars. Yellow throat and white belly, vent, and undertail coverts with black tail. Ligth streaking on sides. Dark cap appearing to extend past nape to back, with gray face and lighter contrasting supercilium. Broken eye ring. Dark upper mandible with lighter base mandible.

Behavior: Foraging in a tree, moving rapidly from branch to branch.
Habitat: Small grove of trees near the reservoir's water's edge.
Similar species and how
were they eliminated:
Grace's Warbler is lighter above with brighter yellow throat and shorter eyebrow, and darker streaking on sides. Yellow-throated Warbler has darker streaking and darker pattern on face with black ear patch.
Previous experience with
this & similar species:
First Blackburnian Warbler. I have seen a few Grace's Warblers but only in Pine Valley.
