Field Marks and
Identifying Characteristics:
Small songbird with a thick bill with a slight hook at the end. Blue-gray head consisted sharply with the olive-green back. Could not see the belly clearly, but it did appear to be clean white with bright yellow flanks. It also hard bold white "spectacles." Two bold, white wing bars.

Similar species and how
were they eliminated:
At first this was classified as a Cassin's vireo, but the contrast with the blue-gray head and olive-green back were much more pronounced than in a Cassin's. It also had very bold white "spectacles" and much brighter yellow on its flanks.
