Light Conditions: low angle sunlight in our face at first, I moved to get get better light for photos
Description:        Size of bird: Petite passerine, I looed at it because it struck me as smaller than a Yellow-rumped
(Description:)       Basic Shape: Delicate, sleek warbler with a narrow, medium length tail
(Description:)  Overall Pattern: grayish brown with light streaking on the chest, rusty crown, yellowish super, yellow undertail coverts
(Description:)            Bill Type: small, slender insectivore type

Field Marks and
Identifying Characteristics:
Small brownish warbler with a rusty cap, and yellow undertail coverts that was regularly pumping its tail. Rather dull, restricted rufous cap and apparent molt limit in the gr coverts suggests 1st cycle.

Song or call & method of delivery: no vocalizations
Behavior: Flitting through a mostly bare Russian olive regularly pumping its tail
Habitat: small, isolated stand of trees on the edge of the Salt Lake marshes

Combination of traits is unmistakable

this & similar species:
Between year of birding in Cape May and central Florida I've seen 10's of thousands of both subspecies of Palm Warbler.
