One male singing on the first part of the trail and a second male hanging out with the Lazuli Buntings about a 1/4 mile away. Both males had different plumage. Blue grosbeaks with large black and silver bill, with cinnamon wing bars. Female had a large bill with overall brown color with wing bars.

Darker wings and tail, with yellow section on edge of tail clearly seen. After several sightings we noticed that the patch of color on the side just below the wing had a definite orange hue, indicating a subadult male.

The bird had and all black head and orange and black shoulders unlike a typical male Bullock's Oriole seen in this area. First seen around 11am by Mia McPherson. There's a male Baltimore Oriole in Morgan County on Jeremy Ranch Road maybe 1/4 mile (3.5 on my van odometer) south of 65. It's staying in a dense bunch of bushes across from a no trespassing sign on orange post and the pond for ranch house. I will try sticking something on that sign post. Also used my heel to draw large arrow on side of road pointing to bush. Bird seems to be enjoying the chokecherries. Remember it is hunting season and both sides of road are private property and posted. See attached photos, though pour quality I believe there's enough to see all the details for a positive confirmation and to show no sign of hybridation.

Cameron Cox ( 5 Aug 2018) - [Frontage Rd between 5600W & 7200W] - Glossy Ibis. An adult still primarily in Alt but beginning the molt to Basic. Watched in good light for at least 10 minutes in the scope. Paid careful attention to eye color at a variety of angles and was alway dark. Facial skin also dark except for the thin pale blue border. Also paid close attention to the pale border and while it wasn't as thick or as noticeable as during high breeding aspect, it ran from the eye, looped over the bill and back to the eye on the top and from the eye to the base of the bill on the bottom. It did not loop around behind the eye and did not show any pink or purple discoloration anywhere along its length. The legs where very dark, darker than any other adult ibis at this location without a hint of pink anywhere. The crown and part of the nape where Basic feathers and where lightly streaked pale, not as extensively as most WFIB. I could see no indications that this bird was a hybrid.

We have substantial pinyon/juniper woodlands as well as a lot of Gambel's oak. I believe the pinyon pine nut crop this year is going to be good. Also the acorns are beginning to ripen. Perhaps this is what is attracting these birds

John Williams (10 Aug 2018) - [Sevier River Bike Path] - Cooper's Hawk. I was just passing by and I heard what sounded like distress calls of several birds in the thick scrub oak along the bike path. I stopped to observe and saw what I believed was a immature Coopers Hawk with something in one talon calling continuously from the branch of a tree. Two other birds were returning calls. one in the same tree but I couldn't see it and one further off. Suddenly the farther bird (adult) came gliding in and landed near to the first. All three kept up the ruckus and moved around some. I also noticed a nest nearby. It was pretty cool because I rarely see these birds.

Kendall Watkins (30 Aug 2018) - [Tonaquint Nature Center] - HERMIT WARBLER. Lifer! Three separate individuals seen at once; could have been more.
       -- Also seen: Philadelphia Vireo. Very yellow belly, throat and flanks and yellow-green wings with dark facial markings giving the bird a heavily contrasted appearance. Much brighter than I would expect to see in even the brightest of Warbling Vireos. Bill appeared to be smaller and more compact than a typical WAVI. The bird was silent for the entire length of my brief observation. I initially encountered the vireo while phishing near the Virgin River on the north east end of the reserve. It flew from the river to a stand of trees directly east of me by the walking trail. It moved from tree to tree very actively and I had a hard time getting on the bird for long periods of time. However, I was able to get 4-5 clear observations with 10X42 binoculars from less than 20 yards. I lost track of it after about 10 minutes of brief looks and was unable to re-find it for photos despite another 30 minutes of searching.

Kendall Watkins (25 Aug 2018) - [Quail Creek reservoir & SP] - Red Phalarope. Observed during my initial scan of the reservoir on the south side near the dam. I watched it in flight with 10X42 binoculars flying low over the reservoir heading north. The bird was in mid molt sporting patches of red on the belly making the ID relatively easy. I also observed the white lining on the top of the wing extending from the tail to the end of the wing; the underside was all white.

Kendall Watkins (22 Aug 2018) - [Lytle Ranch] - Broad-winged Hawk. Was unaware of the bird sitting in a large cottonwood near the orchard/fields and accidentally flushed it. Watched in my binoculars as it flew towards the river and circled south downstream. Initially thought it was a Red-shouldered Hawk as I've encountered them here before in the fall, but the bird exhibited and uniform brown back lacking the white checkerboard pattern typically shown by RSHA. Other key identifiers included small size (definitely a Buteo) with thick black and white bands noted on broad tail.
