Carl Lundblad (30 Apr 2017) - [Bear River MBR] - American Golden-Plover. Pluvialis plovers, more slender than Black-bellied with relatively smaller heads, thinner necks, and slender bills. Wings extending well beyond tail tip and lots of primary extending beyond tertial tips, but I couldn't count how many. Bold supercillia setting off contrasting dark caps. "Contrasty" gold and dark speckled upper parts. Delayed pre-alternate molt also consistent with this species; Pacific Golden-plover (which I'm not sure we really need to consider) undergo pre-alternate molt early in spring, usually/often prior to migration. Black-bellied Plovers typically molt earlier in the spring, and the several hundred I saw this same morning at AIC were all in alternate plumage.

Gray above, pale below (upper breast darker fading to white on lower belly), wings often quite broad, extending to tail, but sometimes stretched thinner, wings white below with black outlines and tips, tail black with two white bars (only one visible clearly), moderate size--quite small for a buteo.

Kevin Wheeler (17 Apr 2017) - [Sand Hollow Reservoir] - Iceland Gull -- Not sure about the identification, but the general shape and color, with very pale wings lead me to this conclusion. This gull was slightly larger than nearby Ring-billed Gulls, with very pale tertials and coverts, slightly darker primaries, and smudgy-but pale back. It has pinkish legs and dark eye and bill. Other birders identified these photos as either Kumlien's or Thayer's.

Mike Hearell (23 Apr 2017) - [Ogden Bay WMA] - Glossy Ibis. On a couple of occasions this individual would stop feeding and stretch it's legs out behind it. The view of the legs during this time were seen to be completely gray. The appearance of pink on the legs in my photo is something that wasn't observed in the field and must be an artifact. When combined with the strong GLIB features of the face, it was our thoughts that this was a pure bird.

Shaila Hood (10 Apr 2017) - [North Ogden, UT] - Broad-winged Hawk. Immature bird - vertical streaking on body, white chin, short and stocky wings that were overall white-ish/buffy with dark outline and dark primaries, bulky buteo head. Bird had an adult-ish tail with two black bands present and the first ID point noted. Bird was soaring overhead along Ben Lomond Mountain foothills, fairly low so I was able to clearly see its details and face. It was slowly drifting north in its loops. No images, but I'm 100% confident in ID.
